harvest moon

how
wonderful
it
is
to
be
surprised
the
skies
opened
up
last
night
thunder
booming
lightning
flashing
and
the
rain
came
down
in
a
torrent
the
harvest
moon
showing
brightly
and
i
ran
through
it
clothes
drenched
and
weighing
heavy
as
i
sat
on
the
kitchen
floor
and
my
heart
smiled.

take five

it
is
not
uncommon,
on
days
such
as
these
especially,
to
hear
a
child
practing
their
instruments
outside.
Having
taxed
their
families
with
squeeky
scales.
But
the
day
was
oddly
gorgeous
in
it's
unseasonably
warm
tempertures
and
leaves
twinkling
oranges,
reds,
yellows.
So,
to
hear
Take
Five
drifting
on
those
warm
drafts
made
my
heart
soar.

The double harvest moon

shown
brightly
as
the
autumnal
equinox
passed.
But
the
date
was
a
mere
number.
Autumn
was
already
about...

the summer sang out...

with gladiolus, and simmering beets, and mounds of tomatoes....

Sunday, September 5, 2010

and it all came tumbling down

There
you are-
sitting
on
your
wall-
not
expecting
that
the
world
that
so
comfortably
caressed
you
would
suddenly
take
different
turns.
The
souls
around
you
that
have
nourished
you,
your
well
being,
your
love,
have
all
shifted.
And
you
are
left
with
the
terrifying
thought
of,
perhaps,
this
time,
it
can't
be
put
back
together
again.
